Crazy for Cockapoos

Cockapoos are a popular and loving breed of dog that are a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. These dogs are known for their playful and affectionate personalities, making them great companions for families and individuals alike.

One of the best things about Cockapoos is their low shedding coat. This is because both the Cocker Spaniel and the Poodle breeds have hair, not fur, which makes for a low-shedding, hypoallergenic coat. This makes them a great option for people with allergies or who are looking for a dog that won't leave as much hair around the house.

Cockapoos are also known for being highly intelligent, making them easy to train. This combined with their playful nature makes them great for families with children. They are also known to be very adaptable, which makes them great for apartment living or larger homes.

Another great thing about Cockapoos is their size. They are considered a small breed dog, which makes them great for people who live in smaller homes or apartments. They typically weigh between 13-20 pounds and stand around 11-15 inches tall.

Cockapoos are also known for being very affectionate and loving towards their owners. They are known to be very loyal and will form strong bonds with their owners. They are also known to be very good with children and other pets, making them great for families.

Overall, Cockapoos are a great breed of dog for anyone looking for a loving companion. They are low shedding, hypoallergenic, easy to train, and adaptable to any living situation. They make great pets for families and individuals alike and will provide many years of love and companionship. And, just look at how cute they are!

Muddy Paws Club

The wet season is upon us, so we need to prepare to get muddy.. hang up our tshirts and trade them for woolly jumpers and wellies.

Last year I feel like I learnt a lot.. our house was covered in muddy paw prints, wet sofas and soggy doggies.. as well as a car covered in mud. This year we are fully prepared, we’ve renewed our flooring with a durable vinyl (no more washing the carpet!), dog towels in excess supply and a dog hammock that covers the entirety of my car. We’ve also added 2 AC units for the colder days where our pups need to be cosy and warm.

Many pups don’t enjoy getting wet so it becomes a little more difficult to get them out to exercise. Best to try and build your dog up bit by bit and get them used to getting their paws wet. My Nola was never a huge fan of wetter weather and still isn’t super keen. But I would often come downstairs and find a little pee pee by the door because she simply refused to get her butt wet! We’ve worked on this throughout the pass year and so far… no more pees by the back door. If your pup is anything like Nola, get them used to being wet and life will be less stressful for them and cleaner for you.

At Nola & Friends we don’t fear the wet weather but also don’t particularly enjoy getting totally soaked or sending pups home to their parents covered in mud. We’re sensible about where we go out or not, in circumstances where the weather is simply too much, we stay at home, chase each other around the house and play with all our toys. No pup goes bored at Nola & Friends.. and neither do I.

Be careful out there and be mindful of your pups.. and have fun!
