Muddy Paws Club

The wet season is upon us, so we need to prepare to get muddy.. hang up our tshirts and trade them for woolly jumpers and wellies.

Last year I feel like I learnt a lot.. our house was covered in muddy paw prints, wet sofas and soggy doggies.. as well as a car covered in mud. This year we are fully prepared, we’ve renewed our flooring with a durable vinyl (no more washing the carpet!), dog towels in excess supply and a dog hammock that covers the entirety of my car. We’ve also added 2 AC units for the colder days where our pups need to be cosy and warm.

Many pups don’t enjoy getting wet so it becomes a little more difficult to get them out to exercise. Best to try and build your dog up bit by bit and get them used to getting their paws wet. My Nola was never a huge fan of wetter weather and still isn’t super keen. But I would often come downstairs and find a little pee pee by the door because she simply refused to get her butt wet! We’ve worked on this throughout the pass year and so far… no more pees by the back door. If your pup is anything like Nola, get them used to being wet and life will be less stressful for them and cleaner for you.

At Nola & Friends we don’t fear the wet weather but also don’t particularly enjoy getting totally soaked or sending pups home to their parents covered in mud. We’re sensible about where we go out or not, in circumstances where the weather is simply too much, we stay at home, chase each other around the house and play with all our toys. No pup goes bored at Nola & Friends.. and neither do I.

Be careful out there and be mindful of your pups.. and have fun!
